Fluorocarbon (Viton®) has replaced nitrile in many applications because of its superior resistance to compression set, high temperatures, and a wide range of chemicals.

Parco is a leading manufacturer of fluorocarbon (Viton®) O-rings for high performance applications. Our O-rings are available in both genuine Viton® and general fluorocarbon compounds. The chart below provides an overview of those materials.

Viton® Type Description
A General purpose, high temperature resistant
B Better chemical resistance than type A
F Better chemical resistance than type B and A
GLT Good low temperature properties, chemical resistance similar to type A
GFLT Good low temperature properties, chemical resistance similar to type F
EPT Best chemical resistant, poor low temperature performance

Parco’s fluorocarbon (Viton®) O-rings withstand a very broad spectrum of chemicals over a temperature range second only to that of silicone. Individual fluorocarbon (Viton®) compounds have service temperatures that range from -20 to +400°F.
