Parco’s Quality Management System Earns ISO/TS 16949 Certification

Ontario, California, January 23, 2006.  Parco, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance seals, earned ISO Technical Specification (TS) 16949 certification of its quality management system.

ISO/TS 16949 combines the existing American, German, French, and Italian automotive quality system standards.  In December 2006, that standard will supersede the American automotive management system standard, QS-9000.  The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and the International Organization for Standards (ISO) wrote the specification to eliminate the need for multiple certifications.

Det Norske Veritas Certification, Inc. (DNV) has certified that Parco’s quality management system conforms to ISO/TS 16949.  Parco’s quality management system is also certified to AS7115, AS9100 and ISO 9001.

Parco’s ISO/TS 16949 certification strengthens the company’s automotive qualifications.  Parco currently supplies seals for a wide range of automotive applications including engines, transmissions, and steering systems.  Leading automotive manufacturers such as Ford, General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo rely on Parco for their seals.

Parco earned ISO/TS 16949 certification one year before the deadline established by the automotive industry.
